Great Start to a New Year!!

To start off the new year the primary which now includes Kason (he's a sunbeam!!) came up with the idea to follow the example of the anti-Nephi-Lehis in the book of Mormom and "bury their swords." ( They wrote on a plastic sword things they resolved never to do again or things they would get better at and then burried these swords in the ground.)

I thought this idea was so cool because not only did they learn and understand an account from the Book of Mormon, they also learned that even if they have made bad choices in the past, they have the agency to improve and better themselves.

They both had a blast!! Kason loved throwing his sword in the hole, and Marshall loved throwing the dirt back on the hole to cover it!! Kason wrote that he would share with his brothers which was perfect. Marshall wrote that he would stop throwing things at his mom and brothers. When he told me this I couldn't understand why he would write that because he never throws things!! There are plenty of other things he could have written on there!! The more I thought about it I realized that he probably wrote that on there because he knew he could easily stop doing it, since he Never throw things!! He is too smart for his own good!! The little stinker!!

Since we are on this subject I will share another funny Marshall quote. Marshall loves to "read" the real Book of Mormon. He will look at every page during sacrament meeting, and even between playing with toys at home, he will come turn a page. Marshall said, "I like to read the Book of Mormon so that when I get big I will know what to say when I go up there at church." What a great kid!!

What a great idea! I will have to remember that for when Maylee is a little bigger. I like how Marshall played it- nice and easy- smart guy.

That is so cute that Kason already realizes that sharing more is something that will make him happier, what a great kid.

Whoa - that is a fun activity for primary. I'm impressed with the primary there for sure! Marshall just knows how to play the game already - he's so smart! I can't believe Kason is a sunbeam! That is nuts!

I am so stealing that idea for a Family Home Evening - how awesome!! And Marshall is a super special kid to already be wanting to read the scriptures! What a touching story of why he reads - cute boy!!!

Christine,
Congratulations! I am so excited to hear what you're having...When do you find out? I really feel like we may be having a boy this time. The pregnancy has been a little different but not anything terribly noticable. How about for you?
