My 1st Grader!

Today was Marshall's first day in first grade. This is him before we left for school...

And this was him in line at school with his new teacher Mrs. Coe. He was soo nervous!
I went to check on him at lunch thanks to Babbie and Grandpa watching my kids. His buddy Wyatt in the picture below is in his class which helped calm his nerves. He was much calmer at lunch but he told me that he wanted to go home. He isn't quite used to all day yet. I've got to admit I did get a little emotional last night when I was packing his lunch. All day is long for mom too!!

Sylvie is 1!

This cute little thing just had her one year well check. She is 18 lbs, 4 oz., and in the 10th percentile. She is 29 inches/26%tile. Her head is 18.25 inches/79th%tile. Healthy as can be. In fact, she was NEVER sick her entire first year of life!! I love that she is petite because I feel like a still have my baby!! I have a huge post in the works which includes her B-day party, and many milestones. I've been having technical difficulties with a video I am trying to upload. For now, hopefully this picture will suffice!! Love, Love, Love this girl!!!!!

Sylvie's 1st birthday!!

The day we got home from Yellowstone was Sylvie's Birthday. Luckily we called Albertson's and had them make a cake for Sylvie which was waiting at Babbie and Grandpa's when we rolled in. Sylvie was beyond exhausted, but still made the most of it!!

This is before she started to eat the cake...
And this is after!!
We got Sylvie ALL girl toys for her birthday! The poor thing only had cars and planes (which she perfectly makes the noises to) to play with before this day!! She loves dolly, and picks her up and babbles in a high pitched voice because she wants you to say "Hello Sylvie, I'm Dolly." This started out with just Dolly, but has now generalized into any inanimate object!!
Here is Sylvie rockin' her adorable pink cowgirl boots which I just had to include as a part of her birthday present!!

Here is her bear walk. She is not yet walking, so this is the way she prefers to get around!!

She picks up anything she is playing with, shows it to you and emphatically babbles something. She is very matter of fact!!

Her favorite thing to look at when she wakes up in the morning and babble about is this picture which is hanging on the wall right by our bed...

She rarely sucks her fingers anymore except when she is very tired. Here is a picture of her in her crib right before she fell asleep...

Words she says at 1:
mama
dada
more
all done (says when she wants to eat and when she's all done)
pretty, pretty (when she puts necklaces around her neck, and when I do her hair, or put on clothes)
ow! (when she is feeling aggressive, and usually hits when she says this)
bampa (she adores her grandpa)
diaper
hi
She copies words we say

Some of her favorite things are:
necklaces
anything she knows she is not supposed to have
a stuffed pig that snorts
dolly
pink pony
her brothers!
Grandpa

Here is a video of her eating her first birthday cake!

Yellowstone Trip: Sheepcliff Park

We found the coolest place to stop for lunch when we were in Yellowstone. It had a river for the boys to throw things in and an amazing rock climbing wall that was formed from volcanic rock. It was really cool!! We had alot of fun at this little spot.

The grass was this tall on little Brigham!!
Sadie liked to push Sylvie through all the brush.

Here they are on their way up the rock wall!
This picture puts into perspective just how high the wall was, and how high they climbed!!
Even daddy took Brig up. They all loved it!!
We had so many things that we wanted to do, that we had to pick and choose. Instead of going to the hot springs to go swimming, we decided to go fishing in Victor, Idaho since it is way to hot to fish in Nevada in July!!
We had an interesting adventure, but our fishing trip was cut short due to our friend getting hooked in the hand, and Sadie falling into the pond. What memories. Now we can laugh about it though!!
We went on an amazing raft ride while we stayed in Island Park. We had a blast! My friend has all the pictures and even a fun video from that. I will post the pictures when she sends them to me. For now, this is the end of the Yellowstone trip. As you can see we did alot and we were exhausted by the end!! I LOVE this picture!!

Jackson Hole

A gondolaing we will go!! We had a blast in Jackson Hole. The most memorable thing we did there was go on a gondola up a mountain 10,000 feet. I was excited because I remembered doing this in Banff when I was a child. The kids LOVED it!!

Here they are waiting anxiously to go up!! Hang on tight!!
Sylvie and daddy!!
Sylvie and mommy!!
We made it!! Brrr! It was freezing on the top of that mountain!! See the snow?!
Now it's time to go down the mountain!! The scenery was beautiful!! I almost forgot to mention that Brigham dropped his spidey crock down a cliff at the top of a mountain. Bye, bye spidey crock!! Needless to say, that caused a huge upset. I was close to taking a picture of the melt down, but the timing just wasn't appropriate!!:)

Yellowstone Trip: The Wildlife

Oh what wildlife we did see! An elk crossed the street right before our car crossed the road. Amazing!!

A grizzly bear and a black bear from a distance, ofcourse!!
More elk..
And this buffalo looked right at all three boys and they LOVED it. I was nervous when I took this picture because I could have touched this buffalo with a stick from the window of my car. It was awesome and scary at the same time!!
We even saw a momma buffalo milking her calf...

And there were plenty of herds of buffalo!
When we got to Jackson Hole, we found our friend the moose!

We started the trip with a wish list of wildlife we wanted to see. And we saw everything except a wolf that was on our wish list!! I'd say we did pretty good! It was better than a zoo because you never knew what you would come across. We got so excited whenever we spotted an animal!!
