Christmas Memories 2008

It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone already!! The boys couldn't wait for Santa to come! We are starting a new tradition that the one who hands out presents wears an elf hat. Marshall was all over that and wants to be the elf every Christmas!! He was a good little elf and selflessly handed out presents to others even when he himself didn't get one!! I was amazed! They received so many wonderful gifts which they will spend the rest of the year exploring! Half of them are still in boxes on the dining room table!!

Grandpa made each of the boys a treasure box to put little treasures in just like daddy had when he was a boy. In the treasure box Grandpa put a picture of their daddy from his mission, a toy snake, candy (ofcourse), and some baseball cards. Marshall noticed that daddy's treasure box had some rocks in it. Grandpa told Marshall that he would take him up in the mountains to get some rocks. As soon as we got home Marshall asked me if we could go to the mountains to get some rocks, and then when Kason came home he told him he could come with Marshall to get rocks and every cool rock he found he could give to Marshall!! I cracked up! So much for Kason getting his own cool rocks! Then Marshall continued to say that Briggy couldn't come. When I asked why he said, "because every rock Briggy sees he will pick up and say ball, ball, and then throw it, and mom, rocks are NOT balls!! Again I cracked up! What a guy!! Thanks again Grandpa, those boxes are priceless!!

I had to put the picture of the melting snowman with a missing nose up because I let them go outside around snack time and apparently the carrot looked appetizing!! Hilarious!!

Thank-you everyone for all of your generous gifts!! We love you and Happy Holidays!!

Snow Update...

This afternoon we went to McDonalds to run off some the kids' energy because it was too cold to go to the park. Bad idea. After the kids played around for awhile we noticed that the snow was starting to come down ALOT harder. It was a real blizzard!! We quickly left McDonalds and slowly drove home. It was unbelievable how much snow was coming down!! We made it safely home but couldn't make it up the driveway (hence the picture). It is really funny in retrospect.

Dad came home early because of the weather and built a snowman with the boys!! They LOVED the snow until their little feet froze!! We really weren't prepared for this weather at all!! They say they haven't had this much snow for 30 years!! The airport and the road to California are closed. There is no school tomorrow because of the snow, and TJ isn't sure if he's going to go in to work tomorrow or not!! Sadly, the weather forecast says the snow will be gone by Christmas.:( As for now, I am loving every minute of it!!

It snowed!!

While his brothers were snoozing, Marshall had fun playing in the snow!! Yes that falling white stuff is really snow!! :) His favorite part was catching it with his tongue!! The only other time I can remember snow here was a couple of years ago when it snowed during the night and then melted in the morning!! This is the first time we could play with it. When it hits the ground it melts, but it is coming down pretty hard so I guess there is a slight chance (very slight) that we might have a white Christmas, Yay!!!

We'll Miss you Grandpa Schroeder!!

For the last 3 weeks Grandpa Schroeder has been here visiting us from Canada. Sadly, he is going home tomorrow. It was so nice for our boys to spend time with him since they never get to see him. It was also super great for me to have my dad around. He played with the boys non-stop. They play rough, but it didn't seem to bother him! He was so patient with them that it amazed me!! He did everything with us that we did in an average day every day he was here. We Love you Grandpa Schroeder and we will miss you soooo much!!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year because cousin Maylee and Aunt Michaun and Uncle Matt were here to spend it with us!! Superheroes was the theme this year and the kids had a blast with it!! Marshall kept his mask on the entire time. Kason, on the other hand, took his off and kept it off for the night the minute the bribes of candy to get pictures taken was over!

Just a reminder...

Kason is 3!! I had to show you how cute he shows that he is three. Not the typical thumb and index finger used here!! So Kason!!!

First Day of Nursery

Today was Brigham's first day of nursery! My baby is growing up too fast. We expected him to cry for the whole thing but luckily there were some fun toys to play with, his favorite being a vacuum he could walk around with. His teacher said he did great and didn't come get us until snack time when he was in hysterics. I think food just reminds him too much of mom and dad. Anyways, it was really kind of weird not having him to chase around during primary. I'm sure I will get used to it, but it was still weird.

Ode to Grandpa Jensen

We are so grateful to Grandpa Jensen for all he does for us!! These pics were taken in the early summer sometime, but I had to post them. Grandpa showed the boys how to use a squeegy to clean windows and as you can see by Marshall's concentrated look that he took it quite seriously. Kason also took a turn and loved it. Grandpa teaches the boys all kinds of fun things! He helps them hammer nails, draw cool pictures, clean up the yard, and the list goes on and on and on!!
Grandpa Jensen can't come over without Briggy yelling Bampa and demanding that he hold him, and ofcourse Grandpa obliges! Briggy even knows when we drive by Grandpa Jensen's house, and again he yells BAMPA!!!

Who else would put up with one kid (Kason)trying to push the lawn mower (which of course makes more work), one kid (Marshall) throwing extra weeds and things for the lawn mower to mow all with a toddler in tow, only Grandpa Jensen, and so I ode! We love you Grandpa Jensen!!!

Marshall's Day of Firsts!

Today was Marshall's first day of Tiny Tots and they went on a field trip to the fire station and had a blast! I was nervous that Marshall might get intimidated by all of the kids (over 22), but his teachers said that he did not. Yay! Up until this point Marshall had been going to pre-school in Henderson with his buddy Hunter. The Henderson pre-school was GREAT but the drive was NOT therefore we got him into Tiny Tots! I consider it a blessing that we got him in because there was only one spot available for October and I got there early enough to snag it. Thank-you Babby for watching the kids at 7 am!!

This is a picture of Marshall with his new Tiny Tot teachers Miss Lisa, Miss Julie, and Miss Staci. Yay Tiny Tots!!

Today was also Marshall's first soccer game. It was really hard to get an action shot (he is #8). He started off a little nervous (he was the smallest dude there) but by the end he was running after the ball and kicking it. No goals yet, but he is now just starting to get the hang of it! Look out David Beckham!!

Back to Fun California!!

This time we went to Legoland we got to stay at a timeshare that was across the street from the ocean!! It was amazing! The boys liked watching the surfers and sailboats. Ofcourse it wouldn't be California without Legoland!! We went on some rides that we didn't get to last time, and we went to the Legoland Aquarium for the first time! The aquarium was just right for our little guys! They didn't have to be held up to see any of the fish!! The beach is always a favorite! We had to bribe them when it was time to go home or they never would have left!! We had a great time yet again!!!

Surprise!!

So... we thought this box would be fun for Briggy to play in, but what to do think happened?

It may look like an empty box but....

You guessed it! The brothers took over! Surprise! This has been their favorite game for the past week! Such simple things bring so much pleasure!

As for Brig, he will sneak in the box when he gets a chance. Even though all 3 CAN fit in there, this tends to be a recipe for disaster! Not to mention that it doesn't last long enough to snap a picture!!

Soccer Time!

Marshall had his soccer try-outs a couple of weeks ago. He loved it! It was so fun to watch him! His brothers got in on the action with him, although Kason's favorite part was drinking out of the soccer water bottle. When it was time to go Kason said "I'm just sitting here drinking my water bottle mommy!"

On our way home in the car Marshall asked me very seriously, "Mom, how come I didn't get the piston cup?" I cracked up laughing and told him that they don't hand out trophys
until the end of the season!!

What a guy!!

Much overdue Post...

Marshall now likes to carry Briggy from his room to mommy and daddy's room when he wakes up in the morning. They both obviously enjoy this new tradition!

The boys have done a few "blogworthy" things lately which I need to tell you about...

1. Marshall likes to "read" paperback novels. He will look at the book for a long time just looking at all of the letters!! Babby kindled this obsession!

2. One day Babby came over and she wasn't feeling good and out of the blue Marshall said he wanted to say a prayer for Babby. He said a sweet prayer!!

3. Kason has started to say "Kindly" in front of words, i.e. "kindly yes", when he is trying to be polite. I'm not sure where he got this from but it is funny!!

4. Whenever Brig gets hurt he will come to you and say "kiss", and once he is kissed he will go back to playing. This is something Marshall did at the same age. It is fun to see the similarities between the two!

Sunday Best Jensen Boys

I just thought they all looked so handsome in their white shirts, so I had to take a picture!!
Yes, I am one of those moms who likes all her boys to match when they go to church!! It is fun!!
