Trip to Utah
We had a whirl wind trip to Utah a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe how many things we packed into 3 days!! First, we left Thurs. night and spent the night in St. George with TJ's Grandma Gardner. Then we left early the next morning and were able to make it to the Draper Temple open house. It was so neat to be able to show our kids the inside of the temple!! Kason's favorite part was the part with "the water" aka baptismal font, and Brigham's favorite part was the bus we got to ride to the temple. He hasn't stopped saying temple bus ever since!!
We stayed with Kara and Tim Bell. We had a really great time with them and they were so hospitable. Thank-you guys!! Saturday morning we went over to President Marshall McCoy's house. This is who Marshall was named after. It was such an honor to be in his presence. What an amazing man!! He shared some fun stories he had experienced with his own children which really hit home with us!! He also gave us TERRIFIC parenting advice!! One thing we decided to use with our kids is that no matter what they do, if they tell the truth they can't be punished. He said that if we start this while they are young we will develop a trusting relationship with them when they hit their teens. We thought this was very insightful and has worked great so far! His wife was so sweet and kind. It was just so nice to finally meet them after hearing so much about them from TJ. Marshall LOVED Marshall McCoy and had "Marshall McCoy" play with him, sit by him and do everything with him. He was soooo excited to meet THE Marshall McCoy whom he was named after!!
Saturday night we went to TJ's cousin's reception which was the main reason we went to Utah!! The reception was absolutely gorgeous!! It was nice to see all of TJ's family! I had never met his Aunt Alice before. She is such a doll! The boys had fun dancing at first, but then I think all of the excitement got the best of them. We couldn't stay long because they were soooo done!! The beautiful surroundings were not exactly condusive to tired, grouchy boys to say the least!!
On our ride home we stopped off to say hi to a roommate of mine whom I had not seen or heard of in 12 years!! She found me on facebook literally 2 days before our trip to Utah!! It was so fun to see her!! It is great to be back in touch with you Hilary!!
There you have it. Our weekend in a nutshell!! We don't usually do that many things in a month, let alone 3 days!!

Great post and great times. THanks for sharing the tips you guys picked up, that is a great idea for when we have kids down the road. Thanks for representing our family at the wedding and making the long trip with so many kids and being pregnant!
Can't even tell you're pregnant! You look beautiful! I love the shot at the temple!
