Headed to Cali!!!

Tomorrow we are headed on our first official family vacation to beautiful sunny California!! We are soooo excited!! f you ask Marshall where we are going he will tell you Legoland, the sea and California!! He is right on two accounts - we are going to Legoland, Seaworld and the San Diego zoo which are all in California!! The boys are dancing around the house singing to the tune of "California knows how to party" - CaliKason goes to Legoland, CaliBrother goes to see shamoo! It really is hilarious!!

Before we planned our trip to California we were going to go to Canada, but that is now cancelled. Marshall asked where Canada was, so I told him it was up north and pointed upward. He then innocently asked if Grandpa Schroeder could see him just like Jesus could because he lived above him!! Makes sense, right?! What a cutie!

Anyways, we'll be back next Friday and hopefully there will be many fun and exciting pictures to post!

Cousin Fun!!

Michaun and Maylee came to town and the boys got to experience the cousin life! They had a blast! We fed the fish, went to parks, and just hung out, it was fun!! Since Maylee has left, they can't stop talking about her!! "What kind of plane is Maylee on?" -Marshall "I want to play with MAYLEE!!" - Kason

Marshall sandwich down the slide!

We had an early birthday for Maylee, so the family could be there. Cars was the theme thanks to Maylee's cousins! It was a really fun party! Michaun made a yummy cake and the balloons were a hit! I didn't get that many pictures, but Michaun did so stay tuned to her blog!

Movie night at the big horn sheep park

We like to go to the big horn sheep park on Friday nights and watch them while we eat McDonalds. This Friday not only did we get to see the big horn sheep, but we also got to watch Herbie the Love Bug with our ward at the goat park. It was a blast!!

Marshall decided he would be the licorice man and handed out licorice to every person who arrived. He said he didn't want the people to be starving. Such a funny guy! Marshall said his favorite part of the movie was when Herbie spit out "oatmeal, I mean oil at the naughty guys".

Briggy had fun dumping out and eating every one's popcorn. And ofcourse he found some balls to keep him entertained.

I don't have any pics. of Kason, but instead of watching the movie he was playing at the park in the dark and scraped up his knees and elbows pretty badly (probably because he couldn't see.) Poor little guy!

Those Moments

I am not a big fan of the "sooo cute" phrase which is used by many to describe their kids, but sometimes there just isn't any other phrase to describe those moments. Some moments which can't be photographed are when Kason says "I'm SO happy mommy" about everything which can only be said in the "soo cute" way that he says it. Also when Kason doesn't want to be called anything but his name and if you do (even if it is nice) he will say emphatically "No, I Kason!!" Or when Kason and Briggy do something wrong and they just smile their huge smiles which makes me forget about what they did wrong (smart little guys!)I also think of how Marshall prays that Laman and Lemuel will be nice-- soo cute - oops I did it again!:) How they change words around - they got a transformer thing from a b-day party and it is now the farmer bob thing (kinda sounds like transformer -ok, not so much!!:)

These are Marshall and Kason's best buds Hunter and Max Christiansen (not always so easy to capture the moment!)

At night when TJ and I are in bed we talk about the funny things the kids did all day, and I am not sure we see what they did in the exact same way. But, one thing we agree on for sure is that they are sooo cute!!:)

I'M SO BIG!!

Marshall's most prized possession since he was a baby is his dee dee, a blanket which has been his comfort and best friend. Today the unthinkable happened. Out of the blue Marshall said "Mommy I am going to give my dee dee to Briggy because I'm so big now, I don't need my dee dee anymore!! ", and he handed it to him. I couldn't believe it! He put it in Briggy's crib and has not asked for it since. TJ and I are so proud of him. We truly did not think this day would EVER come!! This is kind of funny because I was racking my brain for a good way to faze out the dee dee. I still remember my tattered blankey which I had until I was 5 when it suddenly disappeared (I wonder where he gets it from). Anyways, the "I'm so big" attitude continued throughout the day. He said "I'm too big to sit at the little table, I want to sit at the big table with you mommy and daddy." He also spent any moment he was in front of a mirror and would stand on his tippy toes and say "I'm growing every day! Look how big I am! I am bigger than Kason and Briggy! Such a funny guy!

Briggy's 1st Birthday!!

Some things to remember about Briggy at 1 year:

When he moos like a cow, he tilts his head back and says moo
He says dat and dis and points toward something if he wants it
He loves to be outside
He is very headstrong and opinionated
If there is something that happens that he doesn't want, he is very loud and vocal and expresses his dislike very well
He thinks he is one of the boys in every way
His favorite things are his bear bear that Babby gave him, his pacifier, balls, mommy, daddy, Grandpa, and his brothers
He dances by moving his arms and saying ah, ah, ah, ah
He's the pickiest eater we have had yet
He's the BEST sleeper ever
He crawls, doesn't walk yet, but pulls himself onto and everything and walks along the couch and with mommy
He loves to dump things out and make messes
He loves to play with his brothers
He initiates most games i.e hide and seek, blow into horn, put something on your head
Grunts when he gets tired
Mimicks almost any facial expression (favorite is sticking his tongue out at Grandpa)
Good at mimicking most words
When he wants to eat or drink he says "eat" and strongly stresses the "T" sound
He loves to throw himself back into the corner of the couch
He points at things he wants very seriously, usually pushing his arm against his cheek
Words to date:
duck, dat, dis, mamma, dadda, ball, hat, broda (brother), eat, answers "yes" if you ask him a question, a complex series of grunts that communicate any need or emotion he has

We love you Brigham! You are such a blessing in our lives. Happy Birthday!!

P.S. Hit "View all images" if you don't want to see the Hawaiian dude!:)

Briggy's 1st Haircut!!

Here's the before and after pics! It took me awhile to agree to TJ's pleas to cut Briggy's skate dog hair. I knew he would look better with a hair cut, but part of me didn't want to let go of my baby, as silly as that may sound, and I felt that a hair cut meant that my baby was growing up. Well, I know he is growing up, but it's happening a little too fast for me!! I was going to wait until he turned 1 (which is on Wednesday) but I am glad I caved. He is such a cutie!!
